The Rushden Higham Ferrers Litter Wombles which is a non for profit community group has been given a grant of £19,955.00 from the National Lottery.
The grant comes from the National Lottery community fund which supports projects that improve our environment whilst engaging with the local people and volunteers.
A spokesman said “this grant will enable us to purchase more equipment, to undertake additional cleaning activities and to highlight further awareness of the problems of litter in our areas, Importantly we can encourage residents of all ages to come together to engage in our events.”

The funding handed to the group was raised by National Lottery players and given to charities and projects thar have a positive impact on the communities they serve.
